Guess who’s got a face that’s puffier than a marshmallow in a microwave? Yep, you guessed it – the one and only Amy Schumer! But fear not, she’s not just sitting there looking puffy and feeling sorry for herself. Oh no, she’s hitting back at the face critics with the comedic force of a thousand stand-up routines!
In a move that’s as bold as her comedy, the 42-year-old actress took to the battleground of Instagram to address the elephant in the room, or should we say, the puffiness on her face. With her signature wit, she didn’t just clap back, she brought the house down!
“At midnight tonight! Binge both full seasons of @lifeandbethhulu and thank you so much for everyone’s input about my face! I’ve enjoyed feedback and deliberation about my appearance as all women do for almost 20 years. And you’re right it is puffier than normal right now,” Amy hilariously quipped. “I have endometriosis, an autoimmune disease that every woman should read about. There are some medical and hormonal things going on in my world right now but I’m okay.”
Amy didn’t stop there; she went full-on advocate for self-love and acceptance. “Historically, women’s bodies have barely been studied medically compared to men. The book ‘all in her head‘ does a good job explaining this. I also believe a woman doesn’t need any excuse for her physical appearance and owes no explanation. But I wanted to take the opportunity to advocate for self-love and acceptance of the skin you’re in.”
And just when you thought she was done, she dropped the mic with this gem: “Like every other women/person some days I feel confident and good as hell and others I want to put a bag over my head. But I feel strong and beautiful and so proud of this tv show I created. Wrote. Starred in and directed. Maybe just maybe we can focus on that for a little. I had backup dancers on Fallon but my face is the headline hahaha anyway I hope you enjoy life and Beth. Love and solidarity. Amy”
Who needs a comedy special when you’ve got Amy Schumer schooling the internet in the art of self-love and sass? She’s not just the queen of comedy; she’s the reigning champion of shutting down face critics with style! So, let’s raise a toast to Amy and her puffy face – because when life gives her puffiness, she serves up a side of empowerment and laughter!
