It’s been over two long years since we last got our Euphoria fix, and no, watching Season 2 on repeat while stress-eating Cheetos doesn’t count as a “new season.” But don’t fret, because Zendaya is back and giving us just enough info to keep us wildly confused about what’s happening in Season 3.
In a shocker to absolutely no one, filming for the third season is slated to start in… wait for it… early 2025! That’s right, by the time it airs, the cast will be actual adults playing teens, which somehow feels more on brand than ever for Euphoria.
Zendaya’s Latest Tea on Season 3? Lukewarm, But We’ll Take It!
In an interview, the Queen of Cool herself, Zendaya – who isn’t just starring in the show but is also wearing her executive producer hat (multitasking queen!) – gave us some vague but tantalizing details about what’s to come. And by tantalizing, I mean she basically told us nothing. But in a charming, Zendaya way, which somehow makes it okay.
She confirmed that there will be a time jump between Seasons 2 and 3 because, as Zendaya hilariously put it, “there’s only so much high school drama you can deal with.” Amen to that! If I have to watch one more locker room meltdown or intense hallway stare-off, I might just enroll myself back into high school out of nostalgia.
The time jump, according to Zendaya, will finally give us a glimpse of these chaotic characters outside of high school. You know, like in the “real world,” where you have rent, taxes, and your best friend won’t forgive you for eating their leftovers. Adult stuff. Will Rue be any better at adulting than she was at… um, everything else? Remains to be seen.
“I’ll be interested to see what happens too,” Zendaya casually tossed in, like it’s not her own show. You know it’s wild when even the star and executive producer is like, “IDK, let’s find out together!”
But, Wait – What Will Happen in Season 3?
Here’s where things get really good. Zendaya was asked point-blank if she knows anything about what’s going down in Season 3. Her answer? “I don’t actually know much about what is happening.” Zendaya, we love you, but that is the vaguest of vague responses! Imagine being the captain of the ship and saying, “I don’t know where we’re going, but the time jump is happening!” I mean, honestly, this is the level of chaotic energy Euphoria fans live for.
So, there you have it. We know there’s going to be a time jump, there will probably be some serious adulting (read: more questionable decisions), and Zendaya herself is just as curious as we are.
