Stephen King’s 1975 spine-chiller Salem’s Lot is making a comeback on the big screen!
Max has unleashed the first trailer for this ghastly reboot, and it’s starring a whole cast of people who clearly didn’t get the memo that vampires are, like, totally out of fashion. Lewis Pullman, Alfre Woodard, Makenzie Leigh, Bill Camp, Spencer Treat Clark, Pilou Asbaek, and John Benjamin Hickey are all along for the ride, presumably to fend off the meanest bloodsucker this side of Transylvania.
So here’s the scoop: Our main guy, Ben Mears (played by Pullman), decides to head back to his old stomping grounds in Jerusalem’s Lot. Why? Because he’s running out of ideas for his next novel. Little does he know, his hometown is now the hotspot for vampires who are probably more interested in his creative juices than his blood.
This new version of Salem’s Lot is penned, filmed, and assembled by Gary Dauberman, the maestro behind such classics as Annabelle, It, and The Nun. Dauberman’s probably hoping to scare up some new fans, or at the very least, ensure that no one ever thinks of vampires as “cute” again.
Mark your calendars! Salem’s Lot will be streaming on Max starting Thursday, Oct. 3, just in time to get your Halloween spook on—or to give you a new reason to keep the lights on.
