David Beckham, legendary soccer star and ab-master extraordinaire, has officially declared war on his gym wardrobe. The 49-year-old athletic icon, who apparently still refuses to let time or carbs catch up with him, decided to bless Instagram with a shirtless selfie on Saturday (August 24), and the internet cannot handle it.
Why, you ask? Well, it turns out that the fashion police were called in—and the culprit was none other than his wife, Victoria Beckham. Yes, Posh Spice herself!
Apparently, Victoria took one look at David’s workout outfit and gave it a hard pass. The man dared to show up in an orange vest (the nerve!), and it was just too bright for her high-fashion standards. In true supportive wife fashion, she suggested that David lose the offending top. And what does David do? Does he take this moment to reflect on his clothing choices? Nope. He simply takes the shirt off and proceeds to flex for the camera. Priorities, people!
“My wife said my Orange vest was too bright so I took it off 🤔🧡🧡 Judging my workout clothes @victoriabeckham you know u love it really 🧡🧡,” David captioned his shirtless snap. But wait, it gets better. David, who seems to be halfway through a personal weight-lifting Olympics, also added, “Sorry @mrbobbyrich not my best form this was the 6th set 🤬.” The sixth set, you guys. Not the first, not the second—he’s humble-bragging his way through a sweat-drenched marathon, and we’re just over here trying to find the energy to fold laundry.
But it doesn’t stop there! Victoria, never one to be outdone, slid into the comments section with her own witty response. “Matchy-matchy 🤣 Chic! 😂” she wrote, clearly owning the fact that she’s been dictating David’s wardrobe even in the gym.
