Rapper Tyga, known for his music and occasional Kardashian-related headlines, is now making news for something truly heartbreaking—his beloved mom, Pasionaye Nguyen, has passed away at the age of 53.
The 35-year-old rapper (real name: Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson, in case you want to flex your knowledge at trivia night) took to Instagram to share his grief and confusion, basically asking the universe, “Who gave you permission to take my mom?!”
“I been trying to understand and process why God takes the most meaningful and most beautifulest people away from us,” Tyga wrote, proving that when emotions run high, grammar rules take a back seat. “But I know I’ll never get an answer that will fill the emptiness in my heart.”
Alongside his heartfelt words, Tyga shared a collection of photos and videos, including an adorable shot of his mom with his 12-year-old son, King Cairo. (Yes, time flies—King Cairo is basically a teenager now. We’re all ancient.)
“You were the best and most supportive person in my life,” Tyga continued, “you always made things better when I felt at my lowest and worst.” If that isn’t the ultimate mom flex, what is? She really understood the assignment.
He went on to express just how much he misses her: “I would trade anything just to be able to be with you again 😢.” And considering Tyga’s lifestyle, “anything” probably includes some pretty wild trade-offs.
The rapper then made a promise: “I Love you forever mom and I’ll do my best to celebrate you with every moment that I have left.” It’s clear Pasionaye wasn’t just his mom—she was his rock, his biggest cheerleader, and probably the only person who could tell him when his music video ideas were too much without getting side-eyed.
Tyga ended his post with a touching tribute:
“Pasionaye Nicole Nguyen 9/11/71 – 1/18/25 👸🏽🫀🌎 You took one of your best angels back GOD. I hope you know that.🪽🙏🏽🕊️🫀💔”
We’re sending all the love and support to Tyga during this incredibly tough time. May his mom continue to watch over him—probably still shaking her head at some of his life choices but loving him unconditionally from above.
RIP, Pasionaye. You clearly raised a son who loves you beyond words. 💜
