Taylor Swift unearthed a new gem from her highly exclusive “Tortured Poets Department” during her Eras Tour – the illustrious “thanK you AImee.”
In case you’ve been living under a rock, this track is one of two on the pop queen’s latest album that seemingly throws shade at her frenemy Kim Kardashian. This lyrical masterpiece is all about a bully, and just in case there was any doubt about who it’s targeting, KIM’s name is blasted in all caps in the title. Subtlety is for amateurs.
On Saturday (June 22), Taylor performed the song for the very first time during her second night in London. She decided to spice things up by mashing it with another anti-bully anthem from her Speak Now era – “Mean.” Before diving into this epic combo, she gave her fans a motivational speech about rising above the haters.
Taylor brilliantly merged “thanK you AImee” with “Mean,” reflecting on how much she appreciates the people who talk smack about her. “It really makes me think about how every time someone talks s—t, it just makes me work even harder and it makes me even tougher. So, it also makes me incredibly thankful for those people,” she said, according to Us Weekly.
Basically, if you’re a hater, you’re just fueling the Taylor Swift powerhouse. So, thank you, bullies, for making her stronger and more fabulous than ever. Keep those insults coming!
