During a chat on TODAY, Austin spilled the beans about a recent run-in with none other than Ryan Gosling. But did they share a bro-hug or exchange cool nods? Nope! Our Elvis sensation went full ninja and actively avoided the encounter.
“I was just telling this story yesterday about getting starstruck by Ryan Gosling recently,” Austin confessed, probably blushing. “It’s when you don’t expect to see somebody… So I saw him outside of a hotel that I was staying in, and I had to go into another door.”
Yes, you read that right. Austin Butler, the guy who played Elvis, ducked into another door to dodge the swoon-worthy Gosling. “I couldn’t say hello. I grew up admiring him so much,” he added, probably kicking himself for the missed opportunity.
When reminded that he himself is a huge celebrity, Austin’s response was adorably humble: “I know. But that doesn’t feel real.”
