Today (June 11), just two days before The Boys season four crashes onto Prime Video like a super-powered wrecking ball, showrunner Eric Kripke dropped a bombshell: the upcoming fifth season will be the grand finale.
In an exclusive heart-to-heart (okay, it was an interview), Kripke revealed why he’s calling it quits after season five.
“I like five seasons,” Kripke said, possibly while lounging in a hammock made of superhero capes. “People keep asking me why, and honestly, as a TV writer, I was trained on five acts. It just makes sense to me to stretch it out that long. Five seasons gives you enough time to really dive into the characters but not so long that it overstays its welcome like an unwanted houseguest.”
Mark your calendars! The Boys season four is back on June 13, 2024. And get ready for a new episode every week—because binge-watching is for mere mortals, not for the supercharged shenanigans of The Boys!
#TheBoys Season 4 Premiere Week is a good time to announce: Season 5 will be the Final Season! Always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax. Watch Season 4 in 2 DAYS, cause the end has begun! pic.twitter.com/3p7Wt4jGA6
