Selma Blair, the 52-year-old star of Cruel Intentions and forever sassy queen of the screen, just dropped some movie-watching confessions on the red carpet. At the Daily Front Row’s 11th Annual Fashion Media Awards (fancy, I know), Selma, looking glamorous as ever, got candid with People about her filmography. Spoiler: She’s a proud member of the “I’ll-watch-my-own-movies” club.
Now, when asked about Cruel Intentions, a movie so iconic it probably has its own perfume line by now, Selma didn’t hold back. “It’s, like, one of the most gorgeous movies ever,” she declared, possibly while shimmering under the lights like a 90s goddess. “It still holds up! I mean, it’s aged better than I have,” she joked (probably). “I love it, I love the cast, I love me…what’s not to love?”
And when it comes to rewatching her teenage drama masterpiece? Selma gave us the truth: “Oh, I’ll watch it all the time,” she admitted, like a proud movie mom. “I mean, I don’t actively put it on, like, ‘Oh, let’s have a Selma Blair movie night!’” (Though, honestly, who wouldn’t?) “But if it’s on in the background? You’d have to pry the remote from my cold, dead hands before I’d turn it off.”
Fast forward to the other classic – Legally Blonde. Apparently, Selma has a thing for never turning her movies off. “Legally Blonde? Same thing! I will never turn that off,” she confessed, probably sipping from a bedazzled cup that says “bend and snap forever.”
Why? Because, duh! “It’s happy, it’s fun, the energy is amazing, and I was so thrilled to be a part of it.” In other words, Selma Blair’s life motto is: if it’s pink, perky, or features Reese Witherspoon winning at life, it’s staying on the TV.
Selma Blair is basically living our dream – endlessly watching her own movies, accidentally, of course.
