Breaking news, everyone: Emily in Paris is coming back for a fifth season, which means there’s officially no escape! Yes, Netflix has renewed the show, so prepare your berets and brace for another year of Emily Cooper charming her way through Paris while somehow managing to offend every French stereotype known to humanity.
Lily Collins is back as our favorite social media whiz (who somehow still doesn’t know how to speak fluent French after five seasons), Emily Cooper. Joining her for the next round of Parisian chaos is Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as the ever-judgmental Sylvie Grateau, Ashley Park as Mindy Chen (the best friend who actually has talent), Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, the chef who is basically a croissant come to life, and Camille Razat as Camille, the personification of “complicated relationship.” Also, Samuel Arnold returns as Julien, the guy whose side-eye could power a small country, Bruno Gouery as Luc, everyone’s favorite awkward but endearing co-worker, and William Abadie as Antoine Lambert, because nothing says “Paris” quite like a perfume mogul with no boundaries. And yes, Lucien Laviscount is back as Alfie, because what’s an Emily in Paris season without a British guy to spice things up?
Lily herself announced this monumental news (okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration) on Good Morning America this morning, probably while looking fabulous and reminding us all that Emily can, in fact, take selfies in a way we mere mortals never will.
Now, while we just got season four part two (because Netflix knows you need to be drip-fed the chaos), there’s no word yet on when season five will hit our screens. But don’t worry, Netflix is keeping us on the edge of our bistro chairs by telling us absolutely nothing about the cast, plot, or release date. So stay tuned for more “Emily” updates! In the meantime, prepare for more Parisian drama, questionable outfit choices, and possibly the least realistic portrayal of an American surviving in Paris ever. Bonne chance!
