Netflix Pulls the Plug on NYC Premiere for Cameron Diaz & Jamie Foxx’s ‘Back in Action’—Because California Is Literally on Fire

In what feels like a plot twist ripped straight out of a Hollywood drama, Netflix has canceled the New York City premiere of Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx’s much-anticipated movie Back in Action. The culprit? California, which seems to be auditioning for the role of “World’s Most Flammable State.”

“Due to the tragic fires, we’re hitting the brakes on our Back in Action NYC premiere,” Netflix said in a somber yet PR-polished statement to Variety. “A lot of people in our industry—and their friends and family—are being impacted right now. Our hearts go out to them. We’re sorry if this messes up your premiere plans, and we thank you for not raging at us on Twitter about it.”
