Millie Bobby Brown has had it up to here with people yapping about her face. Seriously, y’all, she’s just out here living her life, and somehow, the internet thinks it’s a national emergency every time she wears eyeliner.
After hitting a few red carpets looking stunning (as usual), the Stranger Things star found herself on the receiving end of way too many opinions about how she should look. Apparently, some people expect her to stay frozen in time like a Netflix thumbnail from 2016.
So, what did Millie do? Did she cry into a pint of ice cream? Nope. Did she start wearing a T-shirt that says “Let me age in peace”? Tempting, but no. Instead, she posted a fiery Instagram video on Monday (March 3), calling out the nonsense like an absolute queen.
Millie’s Mic Drop Moment
“I feel like we need to have a chat,” Millie began, probably while sipping an iced latte and rolling her eyes. “This isn’t just about me. This is about every girl who has ever grown up while people act shocked that humans… age. Wild concept, right?”
Millie reminded everyone that she was literally 10 years old when she entered the industry. Now, at 21, she is somehow expected to still look like she’s running around Hawkins, Indiana with a shaved head and a nosebleed. “And because I don’t? BOOM. Target acquired,” she said.
Then, she went full detective mode and called out actual journalists (loosely using that term) for writing entire articles about… her face.
Some real headlines she dragged into the spotlight include:
– “Why are Gen Zers like Millie Bobby Brown ageing so badly?” (Excuse me, what?)
– “What has Millie Bobby Brown done to her face?” (Uhh… nothing???)
– “Millie Bobby Brown mistaken for someone’s mom as she guides younger sister Ava through LA” (So now having a younger sibling automatically makes you someone’s mom? Got it.)
Even Little Britain comedian Matt Lucas took a cheap shot at her, because apparently, making fun of a young woman’s appearance is peak comedy. Millie wasn’t having it.
Not Today, Internet Trolls
“This isn’t journalism. This is bullying,” Millie stated, possibly while imagining drop-kicking her phone. “The fact that grown adults are sitting around analyzing my face like it’s a government conspiracy? That’s disturbing. The fact that some of these writers are women? Even worse.”
She called out society’s weird obsession with tearing young women down, saying, “People love to talk about uplifting girls, but when the time comes, suddenly it’s like, ‘Nah, let’s drag her for aging like every other human on planet Earth.’”
Then came the final, chef’s-kiss-worthy declaration:
🚨 Millie Bobby Brown will not be shamed for growing up! 🚨
🚨 Millie Bobby Brown will not be shamed for wearing makeup! 🚨
🚨 Millie Bobby Brown will not be shamed for existing in a body! 🚨
A PSA for the Haters
Millie wrapped it all up with a simple message: “Why is it so much easier to be mean than to be kind? If my existence makes you uncomfortable, maybe you should unpack that instead of writing another article about my eyebrows.”
Moral of the story? Let Millie live. She survived Demogorgons and Vecna—she can definitely handle a few keyboard warriors. But seriously, y’all… let’s do better.
