Michael B. Jordan just dropped a bombshell about the much-anticipated sequel to *I Am Legend*, where he’ll be sharing screen time with none other than Will “I Am Legend Himself” Smith.
The 37-year-old actor, who is still riding high from punching people for a living in *Creed*, joined the cast of this cinematic masterpiece back in 2022. Since then, news about the project has been as scarce as a sunny day in the zombie apocalypse.
But hold onto your popcorn, because Michael recently spilled the beans in an interview about how things are coming along. Spoiler alert: It’s happening! Kind of.
“Weโre still working on the script and getting that up to par,” Michael confessed to *People*, which is code for “weโre still arguing over whether the zombies should do jazz hands or not.” He added, “It doesnโt have a release date or anything like that. Iโm not sure exactly where weโre going to be filming that one, but Iโm really excited to get in front of the camera with [Will].” Translation: It’s like planning a surprise party but youโre not sure if you have a venue or any guests yet.
Michael gushed further, “Being somebody that Iโve looked up to for a really long time, to be able to work with Will is something Iโm really looking forward to. Iโm really excited.” This can be loosely translated to, “Iโve had a Will Smith poster on my wall since *Fresh Prince* days, and now I get to pretend to survive the end of the world with him. Dreams do come true!”
The sequel is inching forward, and while the specifics are still up in the air, one thingโs for sure: Michael B. Jordan is absolutely pumped to fight some zombies with his idol. Stay tuned, because this could be the beginning of a beautiful (and undead) friendship.
