Macaulay Culkin is stepping out of the home (alone) and into the radioactive wasteland! The 44-year-old actor, who’s still most famous for expertly fending off burglars with paint cans and sharp objects, is joining the second season of Fallout on Prime Video. Yes, you heard that right, Fallout—the one with post-apocalyptic chaos, mutants, and a whole lot of irradiated drama.
The big news dropped on Thursday, November 7, and naturally, everyone’s freaking out (in a good way, we think). According to Deadline, Macaulay will be in a recurring role, but the details on what he’s actually doing in this radioactive nightmare are a bit, well, hazy. We do know one thing though: he’s playing a “crazy genius-type.” So, basically, picture him as the mad scientist who gives you a weirdly nostalgic vibe but with more fallout shelters and fewer Christmas trees.
Season 1 of Fallout already left a mark on us with its cast of stellar actors, including Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, and Aaron Moten. After the first season made a big splash (probably in some irradiated swamp somewhere), Prime Video immediately greenlit season two—because who wouldn’t want more explosions and emotional breakdowns in their life?
For those of you who’ve been living under a rock, Fallout is based on a video game series where, after the apocalypse (you know, the usual), the survivors emerge from their luxurious underground fallout shelters only to find a totally messed-up world full of “gleefully weird” and “highly violent” situations. Sounds like a blast! Literally.
So buckle up—Macaulay Culkin’s about to bring his special brand of genius (and probably some highly questionable science experiments) to a post-apocalyptic wasteland near you!
