Well, grab your cowboy hats and hold onto your boots because Luke Bryan just threw some major shade at the 2024 CMA Awards and it’s juicier than a ripe watermelon on a hot summer day!
So here’s the scoop: Beyoncé, yes THE Beyoncé, dropped her country album, “Cowboy Carter,” and everyone thought it would be the belle of the ball. But guess what? It was left off the CMA nomination list faster than you can say “Boot Scootin’ Boogie.” Luke Bryan, country superstar and your go-to guy for all things honky-tonk, decided to address this monumental snub during a chit-chat on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live.
When Andy Cohen poked the bear and asked Luke if Bey was robbed, Luke scratched his head like he was pondering the meaning of life in a cornfield. “It’s a tricky question,” he said, probably while trying to figure out how to get a cow to moo in rhythm. “Sure, Beyoncé made a country album, and she’s got a legion of fans who are ready to roll in on their horses if she doesn’t snag a trophy. I mean, when Beyoncé fans get riled up, they can make a stampede look like a gentle stroll!”
Luke didn’t stop there. “I’m all for everyone jumping on the country music bandwagon! But let’s get real, just because you whip up a country album doesn’t mean you’re automatically a CMA darling,” he pointed out, possibly while strumming a guitar and chewing on a piece of hay. “I mean, a lot of amazing music gets snubbed every year. I made a country album once, and let me tell you, the only thing I got was a plate of biscuits and gravy.”
He then continued with the wisdom of a country sage, saying, “Look, the CMA guys vote on what they think deserves a spot in the spotlight. Everyone cheered for Beyoncé’s country venture, but here’s the kicker: if you wanna play in our country music sandbox, you gotta get a little dirt under your nails. Put on some boots, join the family, and high-five us at the award shows!”
Luke wrapped it up with a warm and fuzzy feeling that’s sweeter than a slice of peach pie. “I’m not saying she didn’t do that. But you know, country music is all about family, y’all!”
Luke Bryan, the king of good vibes, thinks it’s all about family and a little two-stepping. Let’s just hope Bey takes him up on that high-five offer, and maybe we’ll see her at the next CMA shindig, bringing some serious lemonade to the party! 🍋🎉
