Lil Nas X, never one to shy away from speaking his mind (or, in this case, his tweet-fingers), is getting real about the difficulties of being an openly gay rapper. And, as you might expect, he’s giving us the candid, witty spin only he could deliver.
Brace yourselves.
The ‘Old Town Road’ sensation, who strutted out of the closet in 2019 like it was a runway, decided to drop some Twitter/X wisdom with a healthy dose of humor and exasperation.
Here’s the tea:
“Being a gay rapper is hard. Straight dudes got all the baddies,” Nas lamented in what can only be described as the most relatable ‘where’s my hotties’ moment of the year. “We need more known homosexual vixens! Where are our Clermont Twins, where is OUR Lori Harvey, we deserve a Brittany Renner too!”
The man has a point.
Nas isn’t just asking for a plus-one at the Queer Baddie Party; he’s demanding representation. Apparently, the supply of iconic queer vixens in the rap world is as scarce as a parking spot at the mall on Black Friday. Straight guys, according to Nas, are monopolizing the finest of the fine, leaving gay rappers in a thirst drought.
Nas’ tweetstorm comes shortly after he cryptically hinted at firing his “entire team” and starting fresh – which is, honestly, the energy we all need when our vixen shortage reaches critical levels.
But one thing is clear: whether it’s through breaking charts or demanding a Brittany Renner of his own, Lil Nas X is here for the revolution. And honey, we’re ready to watch him lead it.
