Khloé Kardashian & Lamar Odom Reunite After 9 Years—And It’s As Awkward As You’d Expect

Buy Me A Coffee

Someone cue the dramatic music because reality TV just reality-TV’d harder than ever.

Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom have officially come face-to-face for the first time in almost a decade, and let’s just say… whew. If awkward tension were a sport, this would be the Olympics.

During the The Kardashians Season 6 premiere, the 40-year-old reality queen met up with her 45-year-old former NBA star ex-husband, after he randomly bumped into her ride-or-die, Malika Haqq. (Malika, girl, what kind of fate-tempting is this?)

Before the grand (and sweaty) reunion, Khloé took a walk down memory lane—aka a full-blown emotional rollercoaster with loop-de-loops of regret and what-the-heck-was-I-thinking moments.

A Quick History Lesson on the Khlomar Saga
In case you’ve been living under a WiFi-less rock: Khloé and Lamar got married in 2009 after knowing each other for roughly the amount of time it takes to binge a Netflix show—30 days. They split in 2013, but when Lamar overdosed in 2015, Khloé rushed to his side like the world’s most responsible ex-wife. Fast forward to 2016: their divorce was finalized, and Khloé kicked him out of the house she had been renting for him. (Friendly reminder: this is a divorced couple. Khloé really went above and beyond the standard breakup protocol.)

In a confessional, Khloé got real:

“Lamar was and is definitely someone that I felt was the love of my life,” she admitted. “I mean, we got married 30 days after meeting, so obviously, it was true love.”

She reflected on their seven-year marriage: “I took my vows very seriously, but some things were just unfixable. And by ‘some things,’ I mean… a lot of things.”

Despite the chaos, Khloé admitted that her love for Lamar was real: “That was some of the most special, magical, ‘fairy tale with a horror movie twist’ love I’ve ever had.”

The “Not A Date” Reunion
Khloé finally agreed to meet with Lamar to return some of his prized possessions (read: get them out of her house forever). But she was very clear with Malika: “This is NOT a thing. I am NOT wearing a cute dress. I am NOT giving romantic reunion energy.”

And then came Lamar—almost an hour late, sweating like he had just run a marathon in a fur coat. He was visibly nervous, struggling to make eye contact, and attempting some lighthearted jokes that landed with the grace of a brick.

Khloé, ever the unbothered queen, immediately clocked the tension. “Don’t be nervous. I’m not going to do or say anything scary.” (Which, let’s be real, is exactly what someone scary would say.)

In her confessional, she summed up the moment perfectly: “I don’t know this person anymore. It’s a total mindf—k. He looks terrified, like I’m about to roast him on a Comedy Central special.”

And then, just when things couldn’t get any more uncomfortable, Lamar casually dropped a bomb: “My wife.”

Sir.

Khloé’s eyes practically rolled into another dimension as she shut that down. “When it was great, it was spectacular. When it was bad, it was… horrific.” (Translation: Don’t “wife” me, sir.)

The convo took a slightly softer turn when Lamar spotted a photo of Khloé’s son, Tatum, and blurted out: “Your little boy looks like you a lot.” (What an insightful observation, Lamar. Truly groundbreaking.)

Then came the grand apology tour: “I put you through a lot. I f—ked up with you. That love will never go away.”

And just when it seemed like things were winding down, BAM—“To Be Continued.”

Because of course.

What’s Next?
The preview for next week’s episode teases a heated exchange where Khloé finally confronts Lamar about his many, many lies. (Get the popcorn ready.)

In unrelated but equally dramatic news, Khloé also spilled tea about ex Tristan Thompson on her podcast. (Because why settle for one ex-drama when you can have two?)

New episodes of The Kardashians drop Thursdays on Hulu. Buckle up.
