At the 2024 Grammys, Jay-Z strutted onto the stage like he owned the place – well, because he kinda does – to snatch up the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. And guess who he brought along for the ride? None other than his mini-me, Blue Ivy, who probably rocked the red carpet better than half the attendees.
Now, let’s talk about Jay’s love for Queen Bey. If you thought your significant other was your biggest fan, think again. Jay-Z practically wrote a love ballad to Beyoncé right then and there, in front of all of Hollywood.
He starts off by giving a shoutout to Beyoncé’s Grammy collection, which could probably rival the size of a small country. Seriously, she’s got more Grammys than your grandma has cats. But here’s the kicker: despite being the undisputed Grammy queen, Beyoncé still hasn’t nabbed that elusive Album of the Year title. Jay couldn’t help but throw a little shade at the Recording Academy for that one.
In his acceptance speech, he drops some truth bombs like confetti at a New Year’s Eve party. “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady,” he says, but let’s face it, embarrassment is kind of his thing. He reminds everyone that Beyoncé’s Grammy count is higher than Elon Musk’s net worth on a good day, yet she’s been snubbed for Album of the Year more times than we can count.
And just when you think he’s done, Jay drops the mic with, “When I get nervous I tell the truth.” Classic Jay move, really. He wraps it up with a little sprinkle of love for the Academy, because hey, even if you throw shade, you gotta show some love. But let’s face it, Jay’s got one mission: to make sure Queen Bey gets the recognition she deserves. And we’re all here for it.
