Gigi Hadid just gave us a rare peek into her current relationship with ex Zayn Malik, and it sounds like they’ve got this whole co-parenting thing down to a science—like, the organized, color-coded Google Calendar kind of science.
The 29-year-old supermodel and 32-year-old former One Direction heartthrob share their adorable four-year-old daughter, Khai, and according to Gigi, they run their parenting schedule like a well-oiled machine.
“Zayn and I plan our custody schedules months in advance,” she revealed in an interview with Vogue. “That doesn’t mean things don’t switch up now and then, but we help each other out and have each other’s backs.”
Basically, they’re like divorced Olympic relay runners, smoothly passing the parenting baton while dodging paparazzi.
Love, Respect, and a Dash of Mystery
Gigi insists that despite the world’s obsession with knowing every juicy detail of their past, they’re keeping things classy. “There’s the hard part of the world knowing this much and thinking they know everything,” she explained. “At the end of the day, we’re not interested in giving everyone our whole story.”
Translation: Y’all will have to keep guessing.
What they are interested in, however, is raising Khai with “so much respect” for each other. And not just as co-parents, but as people who have been through a lot together. You know, like two survivors of a really intense reality show, but without the dramatic rose ceremonies.
That One Incident We All Remember…
Of course, it’s hard to forget that time back in 2021 when Gigi’s mom, Yolanda Hadid, accused Zayn of, uh, getting a little too expressive with his hands. She claimed he “struck” her while watching then one-year-old Khai, which resulted in a very public fallout. Zayn, for the record, denied the whole thing.
Shortly after, reports surfaced that Gigi and Zayn had called it quits. But fast-forward to today, and despite all the drama, they seem to be thriving in their own way.
So, while we may never get all the behind-the-scenes tea, one thing’s for sure: These two have mastered the art of the amicable ex-life. Co-parenting? Check. Mutual respect? Check. Avoiding oversharing while the entire world watches? Also, check.
