Queen of Country and eternal glitter tornado Dolly Parton is temporarily shutting down the hit factory ππΆπ
While vibing with Khloe Kardashian on her podcast KhloΓ© in Wonder Land (aka the wildest crossover event since Hannah Montana met the Jonas Brothers), our 79-year-old sparkle sorceress said sheβs hitting pause on making new music. Why? Because sheβs still healing after the loss of her husband Carl Dean, who passed away earlier this year after 58 years of marriage (yes, 58 YEARS β your situationship could never).
When Khlo-Money asked if she had writerβs block, Dolly basically said, βKinda, but likeβ¦ emotional edition.β π’
βI got all these gorgeous, glimmering, emotionally devastating ideas,β Dolly said, probably while looking like an angel dipped in rhinestones, βbut I just canβt finish them. I got too much going on. Like, my heartβs full but also tired.β
And tbh, we get it. Dolly said she canβt afford the luxury of falling apart right now β which is probably the most poetic way to say βIβm a legend and Iβm busy.β
BUT WAIT β this doesnβt mean sheβs done forever. Sheβs just putting the heartbreak playlist on ice for now. And because sheβs Dolly Freakinβ Partonβ’, sheβs not just sitting at home watching The Golden Girls on loop. NOPE β sheβs headed to LAS VEGAS, baby! πππ°
So while new bangers might be delayed, we can still catch her sprinkling fairy dust all over the Vegas Strip in her iconic wigs and 15 pounds of sparkle.
Dolly, take all the time you need, queen. Grieve, glitter, and then give us another emotional banger when youβre ready. πΉπ
