Daniel Radcliffe has dropped some new tidbits about the upcoming Harry Potter TV series, and trust me, it’s a hoot!
Back in April 2023, word got out that a brand-new series based on the adored books was in the works. Yep, we’re talking a full-on reboot, not just a rehash of the blockbuster movies.
“Each season would reportedly draw from one of the books, suggesting an ongoing franchise that would stretch for years for the studio,” the report from Variety said. Think of it like your favorite Netflix binge, but with more wands and fewer failed rom-coms.
In a fresh interview, the 34-year-old actor – who conjured up Harry Potter in all eight movies – spilled the beans on whether he’d make an appearance in the new adaptation.
“I don’t think so,” Daniel told E! News, probably while sipping on some Butterbeer. “I think they very wisely want to [have] a clean break. And I don’t know if it would work to have us do anything in it.” Translation: “Let the new kids have their shot at the Sorting Hat, I’m chilling in Hogsmeade.”
Daniel added that he’s “very happy to just watch along with everyone else.” Which means he’s excited to sit back, relax, and judge the new Harry from his couch like the rest of us.
When the interviewer asked what he’d do if the producers begged him for a cameo, Daniel turned on his charm like a true Slytherin.
“I’m gonna be a politician about this, and not deal in hypotheticals,” he said with a wink. Classic Radcliffe – always keeping us guessing and possibly running for office one day.
