Ciara Throws a Party as Russell Wilson Joins the New York Giants—And She’s Already Singing “Empire State of Mind”

Ciara and Russell Wilson are packing their bags and heading to the Big Apple! And by “packing their bags,” we mean Ciara is already curating her New York fashion looks while Russell figures out where the best pizza spots are.

The 39-year-old singer took to Instagram to celebrate the fact that her husband, 36-year-old quarterback and full-time sweetheart, has officially signed with the New York Giants. That’s right—New York, get ready for a whole lot of quarterbacking and Ciara serving looks on the sidelines.

According to ESPN (a.k.a. the football gospel), Russell signed a one-year deal worth up to $21 million—because clearly, being a football legend comes with a hefty price tag. At least $10.5 million of that is guaranteed, which means Russell can comfortably buy Ciara all the Statue of Liberty merch her heart desires.

Russell, clearly already embracing his New Yorker era, posted a photo of MetLife Stadium on his Instagram story, captioning it, “Been here before… can’t wait to do it again. #MetLife @nygiants.” Translation: “I hope New York bagels are as good as everyone says.”

Ciara, always the ultimate hype queen, reposted the story with a bunch of red, white, and blue hearts—because nothing says “I’m about to be the most glamorous WAG in New York” like color-coordinated emojis.

But wait—there’s more! She also dug into the archives and posted a throwback pic of Russell in his New York Yankees uniform from back in the day when he dabbled in baseball. Over the image, she wrote, “New York State of Mind! My greatest inspiration,” tagging him and adding a cute little heart-hand emoji. Oh, and as if that wasn’t enough, she threw on Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ classic “Empire State of Mind” as the soundtrack. Because duh.

Russell’s football journey has been like a very expensive road trip. He started with the Seattle Seahawks (2012-2021), then took a pit stop with the Denver Broncos (2022-2023), had a quick snack break with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2024), and is now officially taking a bite out of the Big Apple with the New York Giants (2025).

Let’s just hope New York is ready for the Ciara-Russell power couple takeover. Somebody get this man a Yankees cap and a slice of dollar pizza, STAT! 🍕🏈✨
