Channing “Magic Abs” Tatum, who is now a solid 44 years young (still younger than most of our bank passwords), has reached a level of dad pride so high, even the skies are like, “Whoa, calm down, man.” Over the weekend, he shared a flurry of Instagram snaps featuring his 11-year-old daughter, Everly, who he co-parents with his ex, Jenna Dewan. And let me tell you, his pride was at DEFCON “I’m-crying-and-I-don’t-care-who-knows-it.”
Now, Tatum didn’t just hit us with a regular ol’ “so proud of you, kiddo” caption. No, no, no. He went full heart-eyes-emoji with, “There are absolutely no words for how proud I am of this lil girl!!!” That’s three exclamation points. Not one. Not two. But three. You can almost hear him shouting it from the rooftops. And if you’re picturing him in a dad hat and Crocs while doing it, you’re not alone.
Why all the ruckus? Well, Everly just slayed it at the St. Ambrose Feis, which—if you’re not familiar with the ancient art of Googling—is a Celtic Irish dance competition. So yeah, imagine Riverdance meets a trophy showdown, and Everly came out winning. Channing tagged the Celtic Irish Dance Academy because, apparently, we need to know exactly where the magic happened.
But wait, it gets better. The man, the myth, the dad-legend followed up with a “I’m freaking out maaaaannn!!!!” The extra “a”s in “man” are there to show you just how close he is to passing out from sheer excitement. Accompanying this was a series of glorious snaps: Everly beaming with her trophies (because she’s a total boss), Channing proudly holding those trophies himself (because dad goals), and of course, the two of them hamming it up in selfies.
Basically, Channing was so stoked, he probably needs to be peeled off the ceiling. If Instagram had a volume button, his post would be set to full-blast with fireworks shooting out of your phone.
Go ahead, check out the post if you dare. Just make sure to have tissues nearby because this level of dad-love will make your heart do the Macarena.
