Chace Crawford, aka the man who made rich-kid brooding an Olympic sport as Nate Archibald, is tipping his metaphorical Upper East Side fedora to his late Gossip Girl costar Michelle Trachtenberg.
Michelle, who blessed our screens as the chaotic icon Georgina Sparks, passed away at the age of 39—an absolute gut punch to all who adored her masterful mix of drama, sass, and occasional blackmailing prowess.
On Wednesday (February 26), Chace took to social media to reminisce about his time with Michelle and pay his respects.
The actor posted a trio of throwback photos with her on Instagram, proving once again that nostalgia hits harder than a Serena van der Woodsen plot twist.
“Michelle was one of a kind,” he wrote in his caption. “I remember her coming on set for the first time and just absolutely owning it.”
He continued, “She was a force of nature and just so so unapologetically funny and magnetic… remembering those years with a big smile. Just a terrible loss. Love you ❤️”
Translation? Michelle was the kind of person who could steal a scene, steal your heart, and possibly steal your secrets if she was still in Georgina mode.
Chace joins fellow Gossip Girl alum Ed Westwick, who also shared a heartfelt tribute earlier in the day. Other cast members have since spoken out, proving that Michelle left an unforgettable mark on the show’s cast and fans alike.
Our thoughts go out to everyone who loved Michelle—because let’s be real, she was a legend. XOXO.
