Cardi B had a health scare that was so intense, it almost turned her into a permanent statue. The 31-year-old rapper, who’s got baby number three on the way with her on-again, off-again hubby Offset, recently had a real-life plot twist that sounds like it came straight out of a soap opera.
This week, Cardi took to social media to explain her “freak accident,” which was so bizarre it could only be described as a series of unfortunate events gone wild. She landed in the hospital, feeling like she’d been hit by a truck and paralyzed in a way that made her think she’d need a new set of legs.
“I had a f-cking freak accident,” Cardi said, with all the drama of a Shakespearean heroine. “It was like a minor disaster that somehow turned into a major catastrophe. Seriously, it was like the universe decided to play a joke on me, and it wasn’t a funny one.”
Despite the intensity of her predicament, Cardi’s baby-to-be managed to stay put. “It was a close call, but the little one is still hanging in there,” she added, probably giving a little sigh of relief as she spoke.
After being pumped full of morphine—which she described with all the enthusiasm of someone who’s just discovered chocolate—Cardi was finally sent home. “Yesterday I was high as a kite and it was great,” she confessed. “Today, I woke up sober and oh boy, it’s not as fun. If I don’t start feeling better in four hours, I’m storming back to the hospital. I don’t care if they have to hook me up to a morphine drip 24/7!”
In true Cardi fashion, she added, “I’m going to milk this for all it’s worth! Morphine me up, baby! I need my fix!”
