It looks like Bruce Springsteen isn’t just bringing Glory Days vibes—he’s serving political hot takes too! The 75-year-old rock icon hopped on the campaign bus with none other than Vice President Kamala Harris, and if you thought he’d stick to just guitar riffs… oh no. The Boss came with receipts and opinions.
On Thursday, October 24th, Springsteen showed up at James R. Hallford Stadium in Clarkston, Georgia, not for a concert (okay, partly for a concert), but for a rally supporting Harris. This was no random drive-by endorsement either—Bruce endorsed Kamala earlier this month, and now he’s literally hitting the campaign trail with her. Talk about friendship goals.
But before he treated the crowd to some classics, Bruce dropped some political truth bombs like it was halftime at the Super Bowl. Spoiler: he had some words about a certain former president.
“Trump is out here auditioning to be an American tyrant,” Bruce declared, leaving no room for subtlety. “He does not understand this country, its history, or what it means to be deeply American.” (Yikes, someone call Mar-a-Lago, because this roast is sizzling.)
Springsteen didn’t stop there. He got all sentimental about democracy, like a rock ‘n’ roll Mr. Rogers:
“I want a president who respects the Constitution, who doesn’t treat it like the terms and conditions nobody reads. Someone who’s not out here threatening democracy like it’s on clearance sale. I want a leader who fights for the middle class, protects women’s rights, and knows what the ‘peaceful transfer of power’ means—and no, it’s not the title of a new Netflix show.”
And surprise, surprise—Bruce is voting for Kamala and her running mate Tim Walz. Apparently, the duo is giving off some serious “guardian of democracy” energy. “There’s only one candidate in this election with those values,” Bruce added.
Once the political sermon wrapped up, The Boss got down to what he does best—jamming out! He lit up the stage with his hits “The Promised Land,” “Land of Hope and Dreams,” and of course, the classic banger “Dancing in the Dark.”
Now, if only the election could be decided by a guitar solo…
