Bethenny Frankel—yes, Skinnygirl CEO, Real Housewives escape artist, and queen of telling it like it really is—is trading in Big Apple bagels for some Florida oranges and (probably) a lot more SPF.
In a heartfelt Instagram confessional (filmed somewhere between an all-white couch and 47 perfectly placed candles), the 54-year-old former Real Housewife of New York City announced she’s saying “bye, B” to NYC and “hey, humidity” to Florida. And no, this isn’t a midlife crisis—it’s all for her daughter, 14-year-old Bryn, who is apparently about to enter her Florida girl era.
“I am moving to Florida for personal and professional reasons,” Bethenny said, which is reality TV star code for “New York was getting on my last nerve and I need a tan.”
But wait—before you start picturing Bethenny throwing all her Manolos into a suitcase and disappearing into the Everglades, relax. She’s still keeping her crash pads in the Hamptons and Manhattan. Because obviously. A girl’s gotta keep her brunch options open.
“We love New York,” she clarified, which we think loosely translates to: “I love Nobu and yelling at people on Madison Avenue.”
A “source” (aka someone whose job it is to talk to IconicHipster.com anonymously while sipping iced coffee) gave the full tea:
“Bryn is Bethenny’s top priority,” the source said. “This move is all about her academics, athletics, and making sure her emotional vibes are chill AF.”
Translation: Bethenny is now a soccer mom, possibly with a golf cart, and Bryn’s about to get a very tan report card.
Also worth noting: Bryn is Bethenny’s daughter with ex-husband Jason Hoppy, and while Jason hasn’t commented on the move, we assume he’s somewhere screaming into a pillow or calling his lawyer.
Bethenny’s officially going full “Real Housewives of Boca Raton,” and Bryn is thriving, sunburn-free, and allegedly the new MVP of her school’s beach volleyball team. Probably.
