Bowen Yang, beloved king of impressions and occasional chaotic glam, has dropped a truth bomb: he’s not trying to become the ghost of Saturday Night Live future.
The 34-year-old comedy wizard—who’s been lighting up Studio 8H since 2019—revealed he might eventually say “Live from New York, I’m… outta here.”
In a recent interview with IconicHipster.com, Bowen got all deep and introspective like he just came out of a 2-hour meditation class at Equinox.
“I’m seeing what life after the show is like and how beautiful it is,” he mused, probably while staring dramatically out a window like a retired soap star. “Everyone who’s left is just vibing with their families, petting their dogs, drinking oat milk lattes, and living their best life.”
Bowen made it clear: SNL is like a party where eventually, you gotta make room for the next generation of weirdos to do their thing.
“New people show up, and you’re like, ‘Dang, now I’m the one who has to explain where the coffee machine is and why there’s glitter in the green room,’” he added. “So yeah, I’ll peace out someday—but like, no hard launch yet.”
Now let’s talk drama: the SNL schedule is apparently the Thanos of Bowen’s social life.
“Every new season, I suddenly remember—oh yeah, I have no free will,” Bowen said, probably while frantically texting someone named Caleb that he still can’t make that brunch. “I tell my friends, ‘See you in June, maybe,’ and anyone I’ve been on a couple cute dates with, I’m like, ‘Hey, you’re not ghosted, I’m just working 900 hours a week. Love you, mean it.’”
So, don’t panic. Bowen’s not leaving just yet. But when he does, he’ll probably exit in the most iconic way possible—maybe being lifted into the sky by a glitter-covered Lorne Michaels while Céline Dion sings live.
Until then, he’s still here, still hilarious, and still trying to find time to text you back.
