Drama has arrived… and it brought dentures.
So here’s what went down:
Bowen Yang, hilarious human and SNL’s unofficial head of empathy, has addressed the tooth-ache heard ‘round the world. Yep, we’re talking about that spicy “White Potus” sketch where Sarah Sherman put on some intense prosthetic teeth to play Chelsea—a character inspired by Aimee Lou Wood from The White Lotus.
Let’s just say… Aimee was not LOL-ing.
She clapped back faster than you can say “dental plan,” calling the toothy portrayal “mean and unfunny.” (Which is honestly the worst insult you can give to an SNL sketch. RIP.)
Bowen, being the cinnamon roll that he is, responded with grace and thoughtfulness instead of throwing on fake teeth and doubling down. “However she reacted is totally valid,” he told Extra, probably while resisting the urge to start nervously monologuing like a Pixar character.
He continued, basically saying:
“Parody is great, but sometimes we forget there are real humans behind the punchlines… with real feelings… and real molars.”
Bowen made it clear that SNL is full of White Lotus stans (and not just because they want to vacation in Sicily on HBO’s dime). He praised Aimee for making water-cooler TV happen again—a rare feat in the age of TikToks and attention spans shorter than a Vine (RIP again).
And he wasn’t done yet. No sir.
Bowen got real, saying sometimes comedians need a good ol’ reality check. Not everything can be chalked up to “freedom of speech,” especially when someone ends up hurt.
“It’s not about being PC or woke,” Bowen said, probably while sipping tea and holding a therapy crystal. “It’s just called being a decent human in 2025. Wild, I know.”
Anyway, the vibe now is let’s learn, grow, and maybe lay off the fake teeth next time, mmkay?
Watch Bowen serve honesty, accountability, and emotional intelligence in the clip below. (Spoiler: He does not wear fake teeth while doing it.) 🦷💬✨
