Blake Lively has officially re-entered the public eye, and according to sources, she neither burst into flames nor got tackled by security—so, overall, a success!
The 37-year-old actress made her grand return to the red carpet alongside her equally famous (and probably very sarcastic) husband, Ryan Reynolds, at the SNL50: The Anniversary Special in New York City. This marked her first big event since filing her lawsuit against It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni and others. Because if you’re going to make headlines, might as well double down, right?
So, how did she feel about stepping back into the Hollywood spotlight? Was she thriving? Spiraling? Secretly wishing she was in sweatpants eating ice cream on her couch?
Well, according to an insider—who we can only assume is either a close friend, a nosy neighbor, or someone who saw her from across the room—Blake and Ryan “had a great time” and “it was nice getting out of the house and being around friends and familiar faces.” Translation: Blake has officially left the chat of hermit life.
The source also revealed that while she was “nervous” (as one would be when returning to public life post-lawsuit), she was also “excited to be out with friends and support Saturday Night Live.” After all, she did host the show back in 2009, which in Hollywood years is basically a century ago.
Blake Lively, back in the mix, proving once again that lawsuits, nerves, and whatever else life throws her way can’t keep a Gossip Girl alum down. Stay tuned for the next episode of Celebrities Doing Normal Things But With Higher Stakes!
