Avril Lavigne Presents Green Day With The Landmark Award At The iHeartRadio Music Awards

Guess who’s getting the rockstar treatment at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards? None other than the iconic punk rockers themselves, Green Day!

Picture this: Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool, and Mike Dirnt strutted their stuff at the glitzy Dolby Theater in LA, soaking in the adoration as they were bestowed with the prestigious Landmark Award. Yep, they’re basically music royalty now.

And who better to do the honors than the queen of pop-punk herself, Avril Lavigne? She sauntered onto the stage like she owned the place, gushing about how Green Day had been the soundtrack to her rebellious teenage years. We feel you, Avril.

But wait, it gets better. Green Day didn’t just stand there looking pretty (although they do that exceptionally well). Oh no, they treated us to a kickass performance of their new tune “Bobby Sox” and threw it back to the ’90s with a rendition of their smash hit “Basket Case.” It was like a time machine back to the era of flannel shirts and questionable hair choices.

And hold onto your hats because TLC, the R&B legends, are also getting in on the action. They’re the other lucky recipients of the Landmark Award this year, proving that ’90s nostalgia is alive and kicking. So get ready to groove to some classic tunes and maybe shed a tear or two for the good ol’ days.
