At Disney’s D23 Fan Expo (aka the Happiest Place on Earth’s biggest nerd-fest) on August 9, the latest scoop on the Avatar sequel was revealed in the most dramatic fashion possible. The event was held at the Honda Center in sunny Anaheim, California, where director James Cameron took center stage and brought along his celebrity sidekicks, Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington. Talk about a power trio!
James Cameron, who apparently swam all the way from New Zealand to be there, announced the film’s title with all the flair of a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat. “I came 7,000 miles from New Zealand for this,” James quipped, probably out of breath from his epic journey. And what’s the title? Well, you’ll have to hold onto your seatbelt for that.
This movie promises to be an eye-popping, jaw-dropping spectacle. “You’ll see more of Pandora the planet than ever before. It’s not what you expect, but it’s definitely what you want,” James promised. So, prepare to be shocked, awed, and maybe a little confused.
James continued with his usual poetic flair, describing the film as “an insane adventure and a feast for the eyes,” with emotional stakes so high they might need their own bungee cords. “We’re going into really challenging territory for all the characters you know and love,” he added. So, if you thought Avatar 2 was a rollercoaster, just wait until you see this one.
And guess what? We’re getting new characters! Meet Oona Chaplin as Varang, the big cheese of the Ash People. Plus, David Thewlis and Michelle Yeoh are hopping on this wild ride. It’s like a celebrity guest star party, and everyone’s invited!
If you’ve been counting the days until Avatar 3 titled ‘Avatar Fire and Ash’, mark your calendar for December 19, 2025. That’s right—2025. So, take a deep breath, and maybe start saving up for those 3D glasses now.
And for those itching to see a sneak peek, Deadline has the goods. Go check it out and prepare to have your mind thoroughly blown!
