Sad news, Coachella-goers—your Brazilian queen of bops, Anitta, has officially hit the eject button on her 2025 performance. And before you ask, no, it’s not because she suddenly decided to become a llama farmer in Peru (though that would be iconic).
On Friday (March 21), the 31-year-old singer dropped the bombshell on social media, revealing that mysterious forces (a.k.a. “unexpected personal reasons”) have forced her to sit this one out.
“I was really looking forward to being at Coachella this year,” Anitta wrote on X (formerly Twitter, for the five people still confused). “But due to unexpected personal reasons, I won’t be able to perform.”
Translation: Life threw her a curveball, and she’s currently dodging it like a pro.
Ever the class act, Anitta made sure to sprinkle some gratitude into her announcement: “I’m truly grateful to the festival for the invitation, their understanding, and continued support.”
She also teased the possibility of a future comeback: “I hope to have the opportunity to join you all in the future and share that special moment together.” Cue dramatic movie trailer music.
Anitta was originally set to hit the Coachella stage on April 12 & 19, but now, festival organizers will have to find someone else to make the crowd twerk with zero regard for their lower backs.
Fans may recall that she ate her Coachella debut back in 2022 and came back for seconds in 2023. Unfortunately, 2025 won’t be part of her Coachella trilogy, leaving us all with one big question: What in the Bad Bunny’s bucket hat happened?!
Whatever the reason, we respect it. Just know, Anitta, we’ll be waiting—Coachella 2026 better come with fireworks and a samba parade.
I hope to have the opportunity to join you all in the future and share that special moment together.
