Amy Schumer just spilled the tea on her short-lived romance with Ozempic, and let’s just say—it was a toxic relationship.
The 43-year-old Kinda Pregnant actress stopped by Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show on Wednesday (January 29) to chat about her experience with the celeb-favorite weight loss drug. Spoiler alert: it did not go well.
“I have this fun little gene called GDF15,” Amy explained. “Basically, it makes me prone to nausea, which is why I spent my entire pregnancy feeling like I was on a never-ending tilt-a-whirl.” But did that stop her from trying Ozempic? Nope. “I gave it a shot almost three years ago and immediately became the leading lady in The Exorcist. I was bed-bound, puking, and had the energy level of a sloth on sedatives.”
Despite shedding 30 pounds at lightning speed, Amy had to ask herself the hard-hitting question: “Do I want to be thin and feel like a Victorian child with consumption?”
She also had some thoughts on the way Ozempic is marketed. “They’re out here advertising all these great side effects like it’s a miracle drug,” she joked. “I hear ‘dramatic weight loss, zero appetite, feel like a walking skeleton,’ and I’m like… those are red flags, babe.”
Ultimately, Amy decided the price of looking snatched wasn’t worth it. “I looked amazing, don’t get me wrong,” she said. “But I also couldn’t lift my head off the pillow. So, what’s the point?!”
And honestly, she’s got a point. Looking hot is cool and all, but if you feel like a human raisin? Hard pass.
