Adrien Brody, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, & Other Big Shots Win at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards 2025

Buy Me A Coffee

The stars aligned last night at TAO Downtown in New York City, where Hollywood’s finest came together to celebrate the New York Film Critics Circle Awards. And boy, did Adrien Brody and Marianne Jean-Baptiste bring their A-game – not just on-screen, but on the winners’ list too!

Adrien Brody, aka “The Brutalist,” Takes Best Actor
Adrien Brody snagged the Best Actor award for his role in The Brutalist. If his performance was anything like his jawline last night, it was absolutely cutting-edge. Standing by his side was his ever-stunning girlfriend, Georgina Chapman, who looked like she just strolled out of a Vogue cover shoot. The guy also had backup in the form of his co-star Guy Pearce, director Brady Corbet, and Brady’s wife Mona Fastvold, who co-wrote the screenplay. It was basically a mini-Brutalist reunion – minus the dramatic lighting and existential despair.

Marianne Jean-Baptiste: Queen of “Hard Truths”
Marianne Jean-Baptiste proved she’s not here to play, winning Best Actress for her role in Hard Truths. We don’t know what truths she uncovered, but if they’re as hard as this win, the competition didn’t stand a chance.

Kieran Culkin & Carol Kane: The Supporting Champions
Kieran Culkin, your favorite chaotic cousin from Succession, bagged Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain. Knowing Kieran, we’re sure he turned that pain into a masterpiece. Meanwhile, Carol Kane won Best Supporting Actress for Between the Temples. Carol, the legend, reminded us all that between those temples lies sheer brilliance.

The Guest List: A Starry Affair
It wasn’t just about the winners, though. The room was packed with stars, including Anora cast members Mikey Madison and Karren Karagulian, along with director Sean Baker. Even Claire Danes graced the event, looking as radiant as a YA novel protagonist. John Turturro showed up with his son Diego, proving that talent really does run in the family. And let’s not forget Janet Planet director Annie Baker, who clearly had the best planetary vibes of the night.
