Viola Davis just hit a major milestone, and her daughter Genesis was right there looking totally grown-up. The EGOT-winning legend was honored at the TV Academy’s Hall of Fame on Saturday night (August 16) at JW Marriott LA Live in LA, and yep, she brought her family along for the glam moment.
Husband Julius Tennon and 15-year-old Genesis were front and center as Viola soaked up the spotlight. And let’s talk about that teen glow-up – Genesis is officially looking like she’s straight out of a coming-of-age movie. Honestly, someone get this girl a solo Instagram already.
Viola strutted the red carpet with Sally Field, who…fun fact…hasn’t been inducted into the Hall of Fame yet. Weird, right? The TV Academy doesn’t throw these induction parties every year; there have only been three in the past eight years. So this was a big deal.
Back in 2015, Viola already bagged an Emmy for her killer performance on How to Get Away with Murder, and now she’s got the Hall of Fame vibes too. Meanwhile, Genesis just celebrated her 15th birthday this summer. Viola’s Instagram tribute was pure mom energy: “And just like that…..our baby is 15. Love you to the moon G…..to the moon……❤️.” Yep, still can’t even handle the cuteness.
So yeah, Viola’s killing it, Genesis is growing up fast, and the Hall of Fame just got a whole lot more family vibes.
