Well, well, well—looks like Ugly Betty alum Eric Mabius is adding a new role to his resume: “Guy Who Got Arrested at 2 AM in Florida.”
The 53-year-old actor, known for playing suave magazine boss Daniel Meade in the hit TV series, apparently decided that the best way to keep things exciting was to get himself booked by the sheriff’s office before sunrise—because nothing good ever happens after midnight, right?
What Happened?!
According to reports, Mabius was taken into custody in Nassau County, Florida, after what we can only assume was an eventful night involving poor decision-making and possibly a lack of snacks. He was slapped with two misdemeanor charges—battery and resisting arrest without violence (which, let’s be real, is the most polite way to get arrested).
As if things weren’t dramatic enough, the actor’s mugshot also revealed a shiny new black eye on his right side. Now, we’re not saying the arrest went south, but it sure looks like somebody had a rough night.
Still Awaiting Trial, Still a Hallmark Star
Mabius, who has made a name for himself starring in Hallmark Channel’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered, is now signed, sealed, and temporarily delivered to the legal system while he awaits trial.
Meanwhile, his wife, Ivy Sherman, and their two teenage sons, Maxfield (18) and Rylan (16), are presumably face-palming somewhere, wishing Dad had just stuck to holiday movies instead of making headlines for the wrong reasons.
