Trailer And Premiere Date For ‘Dexter: Original Sin’ Revealed

Buy Me A Coffee

Dexter: Original Sin is slicing its way onto your screens!

Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 15, because that’s when the prequel series will make its grand debut. But if you’re the impatient type (and who isn’t?), you can get a sneak peek two whole days earlier on Paramount+ With Showtime.

This spinoff is taking us back to the ’90s, where we’ll meet a teenage Dexter. Yes, the same Dexter who made us question our life choices and our taste in hobbies. Instead of Michael C. Hall’s seasoned killer, we’re getting Patrick Gibson as the younger version of our favorite blood-splattering enthusiast. And don’t worry, Michael C. Hall is still around to drop some knowledge bombs and star in Dexter: Resurrection.

Here’s the lowdown, straight from Showtime’s mouth: Set in the totally tubular year of 1991 Miami, Dexter: Original Sin follows young Dexter (played by Patrick Gibson) as he graduates from high school and immediately starts working on his résumé for “Serial Killer Extraordinaire.” When his urge to turn people into human shish kebabs becomes too intense to ignore, he’s gotta figure out how to channel his dark side without landing himself in jail. With a little help from his dad, Harry (Christian Slater), he crafts a code to help him find and off the bad guys while keeping a low profile with the cops. And let’s not forget, young Dexter is also interning at the Miami Metro Police Department—because nothing says “I’m normal” like working alongside the people who might one day hunt you down.

Joining Patrick Gibson in this murderous adventure are Patrick Dempsey, Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, and a special guest star, Sarah Michelle Gellar. Because apparently, vampires and serial killers are besties now.
