Rumer Willis – yes, the offspring of Bruce “Yippee-Ki-Yay” Willis – just dropped some relationship bombs like she’s in the latest Die Hard sequel. In a casual chat with the masses on social media (as one does), she confirmed that her romance with musician Derek Richard Thomas hit the final note. Yep, their duet is officially over. R.I.P to that relationship playlist!
Now, in case you missed it, these two were like a new-age power couple, unveiling their love story back in 2022 with all the PDA we didn’t ask for. Then, as if they were trying to audition for the role of “Cutest Couple of the Year,” they welcomed a mini rockstar into the world – their adorable daughter Louetta – who, by the way, probably already has a better wardrobe than most of us. But sadly, the band has broken up, and instead of love songs, it’s all about co-parenting harmony now.
When a brave soul dared to ask if she and Derek were still a thing, Rumer was like, “Nope, solo parenting it like a boss,” or in her words, “I am single momming it and coparenting.” Boom. Mic drop. She’s got this! And don’t worry, Louetta’s got all the love, snuggles, and possibly more Instagram followers than any of us.
In fact, Rumer couldn’t stop gushing about her little bundle of joy, basically saying, “Lou’s the best thing since sliced bread – no, scratch that – she’s better.” And if you thought she was stopping at one kiddo, think again! Apparently, this mama is planning to build her own basketball team of little Willis juniors, with plans to have six or seven. Why stop at one when you can fill an entire van, am I right?
But wait, there’s more! In a quick “How’s Bruce Willis doing?” segment, she gave us all the feels, saying, “He’s great. I love him so much.” That’s it. Short, sweet, and makes us want to go watch Die Hard for the 87th time. Frontotemporal dementia may have thrown Bruce a curveball, but he’s still the action hero of her heart.
And that’s the latest tea. Tune in next week when Rumer decides to adopt a small country – because why not?
