Raven-Symoné is mourning the loss of her dad, and even though she’s known for making us laugh, this news brings on all the feels.
On Tuesday (Oct. 1), the 38-year-old star of That’s So Raven hopped onto Instagram to share the heartbreaking news about her father, Christopher B. Pearman. And, of course, she did it in her own poetic way, because what else would you expect from Raven?
“My life has been long and abundant,” she began, and if this isn’t the most mature and introspective opening ever, I don’t know what is. “And the path I’m on started with a dream.” (Cue inspirational music and slow zoom-in on Raven staring thoughtfully into the distance.) She wrapped it up by saying, “Hope he is watching with a smile on his face…” and finished off with a peaceful dove emoji because, obviously, the dove emoji has entered its emotional-support era.
To really tug at those heartstrings, Raven included a throwback pic of herself as a kid being held by her dad. And let’s be honest, if you didn’t say “aww” while scrolling, do you even have a soul?
She didn’t spill any more tea on the details surrounding her dad’s passing, keeping it classy and private. But this loss comes just shy of a year after the Pearman family faced another tragedy — the passing of Raven’s younger brother, Blaize Pearman, at the age of 31 last December. Blaize had battled colon cancer, which sounds about as fun as a trip to the DMV on a Monday morning.
We’re sending all the virtual hugs to Raven-Symoné and her family right now. RIP, Christopher B. Pearman. Here’s hoping there’s a That’s So Raven marathon in heaven.
