A long time ago (a.k.a. Sunday), in a galaxy not so far away (a.k.a. her Instagram Stories)… Rachel Bilson put the “co-parent” in cosplay.
The Hart of Dixie star, 43 years fabulous and clearly still fluent in ex-boyfriend references, decided it was time to whip out the ol’ Darth Vader mask. You know, just a chill little Sunday activity. Nothing says “I’m doing great, sweetie” like dressing up as the cinematic alter ego of your baby daddy.
In the video she posted, Rachel and a friend donned Darth Vader masks (as one does) and pressed the buttons on them, triggering some classic Star Wars one-liners. Think: “I am your father” but make it Instagrammable.
And yes, if you’re wondering if this was a random mask choice—nope. Rachel shares her daughter, 10-year-old Briar Rose (who was off-camera and probably judging the adults in silence), with none other than Hayden Christensen, a.k.a. Anakin Skywalker, a.k.a. Darth Vader, a.k.a. “that guy who said he didn’t like sand.”
Helping Rachel and her friend adjust their helmets was another little girl, who clearly had no idea she was participating in some grade-A celebrity subtle shade.
Rachel captioned the video:
“Are you even a mom if you’ve never done this?”
Translation: “This is how we passive-aggressively pay tribute to exes in 2025.”
In completely unrelated (read: extremely related) news, a new book called Welcome to the O.C.: The Oral History just dropped, spilling all the nostalgic tea from Rachel’s former stomping grounds. If you loved The O.C. and secretly shipped Summer and Vader, it’s basically your holy text.
Rachel’s still hilarious, Darth Vader’s still iconic, and we’re all just living in the extended cinematic universe of her subtly savage Instagram content.
