Mr. Worldwide (aka Pitbull, aka the guy who wears shades indoors) is stepping up to address some digital drama hotter than his Miami summers. Apparently, something went down on his YouTube channel, and it involves none other than Kesha (yes, the queen of brushing her teeth with a bottle of Jack).
So, what exactly happened? Let me spill the tea…
Once upon a time, when you clicked on Pitbull’s hit song ‘Timber’, you’d see a nice thumbnail featuring BOTH Pitbull and Kesha, vibing together like musical soulmates. But recently, that thumbnail has been swapped like a plot twist in a telenovela. Now? It’s Pitbull, solo, hogging the limelight like he’s auditioning for Survivor: YouTube Edition.
Gone is Kesha’s iconic presence. It’s like she vanished faster than a pizza at a Super Bowl party.
Cue Pitbull’s response.
Being the suave, bald-headed diplomat that he is, Pitbull swiftly took to the social media streets to assure fans that all is well in the world of high-energy pop-rap collaborations.
“@KeshaRose and I have an incredible song together,” he proclaimed, probably while fist-pumping in a tuxedo. “Nothing will change this.”
(Translation: Don’t worry, y’all. ‘Timber’ is still your karaoke anthem.)
He added, “Team Pitbull is looking into this matter,” because when the thumbnail wars start, you call in Team Pitbull — presumably a group of slick professionals in sunglasses who say “Dale!” a lot. Finally, he dropped the mic with, “Always nothing but love for Kesha, Dale!” For those unfamiliar, “Dale” is Pitbull-speak for “It’s all good, baby!” or maybe “Let’s party!”
Kesha? Not a peep.
As of this moment, Kesha has remained mysteriously silent on the situation, which is highly suspicious for someone who once sang about waking up feeling like P. Diddy. Maybe she’s drafting her response via interpretive dance, or perhaps plotting her thumbnail comeback. Only time will tell.
