Patrick Mahomes, quarterback extraordinaire and family man in the making, recently tackled the topic of expanding his household lineup. With baby No. 3, Golden Raye, making her grand entrance this month, everyone wants to know: Is Patrick planning to recruit a fourth?
The Kansas City Chiefs star, aged 29, addressed the matter with the same precision he brings to a fourth-quarter drive. โIโm good with three for right now,โ he said in a press conference on Tuesday (January 14), leaving just enough wiggle room for speculation. Baby No. 4? โMaybe,โ he teased. Classic Mahomesโkeeping defenses (and reporters) on their toes.
โMy game plan was always three,โ Patrick explained, referring to his squad of tiny teammates: Sterling, 3, Bronze, 2, and their rookie sibling, Golden. โWeโve hit our goal, so weโre sticking here for a bit. But who knowsโmaybe weโll call an audible later.โ
Patrick revealed that the jump from a family of four to five has been as exciting as a Super Bowl comeback. โItโs been fun. I mean, whatโs better than adding another little one to the chaos?โ he said, sounding more like a coach pumped up about a winning season.
He also shared that the older kids are adjusting to their new sibling, Golden, with all the excitement and mild confusion toddlers can muster. โTheyโre loving โbaby sissy,โโ Patrick said. โSterlingโs already trying to teach her the playbook.โ
Interestingly, this marks a bit of a shift in Patrickโs baby game strategy. Over the summer, he was adamant about being done after three. โI said three, and I meant it,โ he had declared, possibly while side-eyeing Brittany, who has clearly mastered the art of charming him into overtime.
So, is this the final roster, or will we see a Mahomes Family 4.0 in the future? Only timeโand maybe a few celebratory touchdownsโwill tell. Stay tuned.
