Nick Jonas, our favorite Jonas brother (don’t tell Joe and Kevin), just took a trip down memory lane—and no, it didn’t involve frosted tips or purity rings. Instead, the 32-year-old actor and musician got all nostalgic about his Disney Channel classmates while casually flexing his time at the Red Sea Film Festival. Oh, and he had a lot to say about Selena Gomez snagging a Golden Globes nomination.
Let’s rewind. Nick burst onto the Disney Channel scene in 2007 with a guest role on Hannah Montana where he, unsurprisingly, played himself. (What range!) This was hot on the heels of the Jonas Brothers releasing their first album under Disney’s label and their infectious bop “Kids of the Future” gracing the Meet the Robinsons soundtrack. Fast forward through Camp Rock, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, and the fever dream that was JONAS, and Nick had solidified himself as a Disney darling.
At the festival, Nick got real about how proud he is of his fellow Mouseketeers. But when asked about his ex (yes, ex) Selena Gomez’s 2025 Golden Globes nomination for Emilia Perez, Nick didn’t dodge the question. He praised her, saying it’s a “tremendous thing” and basically gave a shoutout to Disney for being a talent incubator.
“Disney’s like the Harvard of showbiz,” Nick mused, probably while sipping something expensive. “They find these super unique kids, throw them into a musical number or two, and somehow we all turn out okay—or at least Golden Globe-nominated.”
But Nick didn’t stop there. He got sentimental, describing his Disney years as both a creative bootcamp and, well, actual school. “Those were my high school years,” he said, probably flashing back to locker room scenes from Camp Rock. “Our graduating class? Miley, Selena, Demi… it’s wild to see how far we’ve all come. We’re like the Avengers of teen TV.”
And let’s not forget Miley Cyrus! She’s also in the Golden Globes race for Best Original Song with her track “Beautiful That Way” from The Last Showgirl. So basically, the Disney Channel class of 2007 is still running circles around Hollywood.
Disney might’ve been a chaotic wonderland of choreographed dance-offs and talking animals, but it produced some serious star power. Now if we could just get a reunion tour…
