Scream 7 is officially creeping back onto our screens, arriving in theaters on February 27, 2026! Mark your calendars and prepare your vocal cords because, let’s face it, youโll probably be screaming (or laughing, if you have a dark sense of humor).
After dodging more delays, rewrites, and more cast drama than a soap opera during sweeps week, the horror franchise is back. This time, it’s got enough twists to make a pretzel jealous.
In a plot twist that even Ghostface didn’t see coming, Neve Campbell, aka Sidney Prescott (a.k.a the world’s most stalked woman) made the official announcement on social media. Yes, she’s returning! After sitting out Scream 6 due to some โyou-canโt-afford-meโ salary disputes, sheโs back to take another stab at survivingโฆ yet again. Honestly, Sidney must have a personal hotline with her therapist at this point.
But wait, thereโs more! The godfather of meta horror himself, Kevin Williamson, is returning to the directorโs chair for the sequel. Apparently, he figured, “If no one can do it right, might as well do it myself.”
As of now, Scream 7 has the release date all to itself, meaning no other movie dared challenge it. Guess the competition thought, โYou know what? Weโll pass on trying to beat a killer whoโs literally been resurrected like five times.โ
Check out Neveโs announcement on social media, but bewareโyou might get a jump scare. Or worse, Ghostface might slide into your DMs!
