Scream 7 is officially creeping back onto our screens, arriving in theaters on February 27, 2026! Mark your calendars and prepare your vocal cords because, let’s face it, youβll probably be screaming (or laughing, if you have a dark sense of humor).
After dodging more delays, rewrites, and more cast drama than a soap opera during sweeps week, the horror franchise is back. This time, it’s got enough twists to make a pretzel jealous.
In a plot twist that even Ghostface didn’t see coming, Neve Campbell, aka Sidney Prescott (a.k.a the world’s most stalked woman) made the official announcement on social media. Yes, she’s returning! After sitting out Scream 6 due to some βyou-canβt-afford-meβ salary disputes, sheβs back to take another stab at survivingβ¦ yet again. Honestly, Sidney must have a personal hotline with her therapist at this point.
But wait, thereβs more! The godfather of meta horror himself, Kevin Williamson, is returning to the directorβs chair for the sequel. Apparently, he figured, “If no one can do it right, might as well do it myself.”
As of now, Scream 7 has the release date all to itself, meaning no other movie dared challenge it. Guess the competition thought, βYou know what? Weβll pass on trying to beat a killer whoβs literally been resurrected like five times.β
Check out Neveβs announcement on social media, but bewareβyou might get a jump scare. Or worse, Ghostface might slide into your DMs!
