Miranda Cosgrove is sprinkling some serious hope for the future of *iCarly*!
The 31-year-old actress, who magically never seems to age, charmed our screens as Carly Shay from 2007 to 2012 in the Nickelodeon hit, and then again in the three-season revival on Paramount+ from 2021. But alas, the revival was cut short after season three, leaving us dangling on two cliffhangers that made us scream, “Gibby, nooooo!”
But don’t despair just yet, because Miranda has teased that a movie might be on the horizon to tie up those loose ends tighter than Spencer’s sculpting glue.
“I’m pretty sure it’s gonna happen,” Miranda spilled to *Variety* while promoting her latest cinematic masterpiece, *Despicable Me 4*. (Yes, that’s right. More minions!) “I’m excited and I’d love to wrap up the story,” she added, probably while dodging a barrage of Minion-related questions.
The buzz continued on *The Kelly Clarkson Show*, where Miranda, with all the confidence of someone who’s just found the last pack of bacon in a grocery store, said there’s a “good chance” for a movie.
“I’m hoping we’re gonna get to finally wrap up the story because we left off on a big cliffhanger,” she told Kelly, who was probably trying to contain her excitement by breaking into song. “I think there’s a good chance that we’re going to actually do a movie.” Translation: Carly Shay might be coming back to save us from our mundane lives.
In case you missed it, Miranda wasn’t just acting her socks off in the revival – she was also an executive producer. Because why not, right? She got to call the shots alongside her partners in crime, Nathan Kress (aka Freddie Benson) and Jerry Trainor (aka Crazy Spencer). These two didn’t just act – they directed episodes too, proving that multitasking is not just for moms and octopuses.
It looks like our favorite web show gang might just get the send-off they deserve. Now, if only we could get an update on what happened to the ostrich…
