Machine Gun Kelly is dealing with a double dose of emotions—grief and impending parenthood—after the loss of a close friend. But in true MGK fashion, he’s found a way to make it all feel like a scene from the most chaotic sitcom ever.
The 34-year-old rapper-turned-rockstar-turned-professional-Megan-Fox-appreciator is expecting a child with the actress. Their pregnancy announcement came shortly before their “Are we together? Are we not?” saga kicked off at the end of 2024.
On Friday (March 7), MGK hit up Instagram to post a tribute to his late friend, Australian snowboarder Luke “The Dingo” Trembath, who passed away in February.
A Heartfelt Goodbye… With a Side of Nostalgia
Along with sharing photos of Luke, MGK wrote a message that hit fans right in the feels.
“I didn’t even cry this hard when my dad died. 💔😞🕊️ I’ve lost a lot of friends, but I’ve never lost a brother,” he said. (Cue the emotional indie music and slow zoom-in.)
MGK also opened up about the gut-wrenching moment he had to break the news to his daughter, Cassie. “She loved you so much,” he wrote. “And I’ll never forget when she was too young to understand your name was Dingo, so she called you Ping Pong.” (A+ for effort, kid.)
MGK’s Unborn Child Already Has a Babysitter in the Great Beyond
In a moment of deep reflection, MGK imagined Luke already up in the afterlife, wearing some kind of absurd costume and entertaining his soon-to-be-born child.
“I feel like you’re up there with my new child, dressed up in a hilarious costume making them laugh, getting ready to send them down,” he mused. “I couldn’t ask for a more bittersweet birth blessing.”
MGK is sad, his daughter is mourning, and somewhere in the celestial waiting room of the universe, an unborn baby is being entertained by a snowboarder in a ridiculous outfit. Life—and the afterlife—are full of surprises.
