Leonardo DiCaprio Joins YouTube Like a Teen Vlogger to Drop ‘One Battle After Another’ Trailer

Buy Me A Coffee

Leonardo DiCaprio has done the unthinkable—he’s joined YouTube. No, not to start a prank channel or do mukbang videos, but to unveil the trailer for One Battle After Another, the latest cinematic masterpiece from Paul Thomas Anderson.

And he’s not alone! This star-studded movie also features Regina Hall (queen of comedic timing), Sean Penn (serious actor energy), Alana Haim (from the band to the big screen), Teyana Taylor (dance legend), Wood Harris (icon), Chase Infiniti (coolest name ever?), and the ever-intense Benicio del Toro. That’s right—this movie is flexing its cast like a bodybuilder at the gym.

Rumor has it that the film might be inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s 1997 novel Vineland—which, in true Pynchon fashion, is an absolute literary fever dream. The book is set in an Orwellian version of 1984 (not the kind where you post aesthetic pics with that caption) and follows Zoyd Wheeler and his daughter Prairie as they search for Prairie’s mom, who ghosted them years ago to run off with a narc. It’s got everything: weird characters, unresolved plotlines, bizarre movie spoofs, and, naturally, illicit activities.

However, Paul Thomas Anderson, in true unpredictable genius mode, has set One Battle After Another in the present day, because why make things simple?

Oh, and if you were counting down the days until this movie dropped—bad news. It got hit with a small delay (classic Hollywood), but don’t worry, it’ll now be gracing our eyeballs on September 26. So mark your calendars, set a reminder, and maybe even start a YouTube channel in honor of Leo’s big debut.
