Amy Schumer’s latest Netflix comedy, Kinda Pregnant, is about to waddle its way onto your screens on February 5, and the first trailer just dropped (like a baby learning to walk) on January 7.
Written by Amy Schumer herself (she co-wrote it, probably between snack breaks), this cinematic baby bump of joy is directed by Tyler Spindel. The story comes courtesy of Julie Paiva, with Adam Sandler helping out as a producer because, let’s be honest, everything’s funnier with Sandler’s stamp of approval.
And the cast? Oh, it’s stacked like a baby shower buffet. You’ve got Jillian Bell, Will Forte, Damon Wayans Jr., Brianne Howey, Alex Moffat, Joel David Moore, Lizze Broadway, Urzila Carlson, and Francis Benhamou—all ready to deliver (pun fully intended).
What’s the Plot?
Here’s the gist: Lainy (played by Jillian Bell) is not-so-subtly jealous of her bestie’s pregnancy glow-up. So, in a moment of peak main-character energy, she straps on a fake baby bump. Because what could go wrong, right? Well, everything—and that’s the point. In this wacky twist of fate, Lainy stumbles upon the man of her dreams, proving once again that true love doesn’t care if your baby bump is fake or your life is a hot mess.
Netflix sums it up best: “Jealous of her best friend’s pregnancy, Lainy wears a fake baby bump…and accidentally meets the man of her dreams.” Sounds like a rom-com you didn’t know you needed, right?
The Trailer? It’s a Whole Mood.
The trailer promises awkward laughs, questionable life choices, and enough pregnancy-themed antics to make you grateful for your drama-free streaming life. Think of it as Bridesmaids meets Baby Mama, with a sprinkle of Superbad—but instead of bad decisions involving booze, it’s about faking maternity vibes.
So, mark your calendars, grab some popcorn, and prepare to laugh so hard you’ll feel like you’ve done an ab workout. Kinda Pregnant is giving us major LOL contractions, and February 5 can’t come soon enough!
Now, go watch the trailer…because what else are you doing?
