It was almost a scene straight out of a slapstick comedy during Kesha’s Lollapalooza gig, but thankfully, everyone made it out unscathed!
On August 1st, Kesha, the 37-year-old musical dynamo, took the stage at Chicago’s Grant Park for the festival’s grand opening. As she belted out her hit “Backstabber,” she decided to add a bit of extra drama by waving a knife around like she was auditioning for a cooking show gone rogue.
Turns out, the knife was no prop—someone had swiped it from the kitchen and Kesha was none the wiser. Imagine her surprise when she discovered she’d been brandishing a real butcher knife!
Kesha took to Twitter to clarify the situation, saying, “sooooo apparently the prop knife went missing and they replaced it with a real butcher knife stolen from the kitchen. and i didn’t know. till now. so watch that again…”
The good news? No one ended up on the wrong side of a sharp blade, proving that sometimes, even in rock ‘n’ roll, a little bit of drama is just that—drama.
